I need to replace my center console, but I want to replace it with a full din radio/ cd. I've seen some new ones on Ecklers' web site, but they are made out of plastic. Are they any good?

I don't think it matters where you get these aftermarket plastic interior parts. They just plain suck! I have had nothing but problems with form, fit and function with the ones I got from Ecklers and another reputable corvette house. They all come from the same vendor so it doesn't matter who you buy them from. I ended up buying a dremel to make everything fit. I'm still fighting with the plastic cover for the tach and speedometer. I also bought a new dash and that fits like crap too. Just have plenty of patience and time and a dremel, and you will get everything in. Good Luck!

Got mine from Corvette Central and it fit fine. You might consider trimming up the edges a bit, but other than that it fit fine.

Is it plastic or metal?

Hello,

I don't know if you are interested but i have a the center console off my 76 that i just took out that is already cut for a din radio, the cut doesn't look to pretty but it fit my radio just fine plus i used a plastic plate that covered up the cut and made it look nice. if you are interested you can e-mail me at tom980087@hotmail.com i'll let it go for $80. mine is metal and fit just fine. it needs to be repainted, which i planed on doing or you can what ever. anyway let me know if this may work for you.
