Default Need help changing to Electronic Tach

I have a 74 that had the original cable drive. I changed out the distributor with HEI and did away with the mechanical connection. Now I need assistance trying to figure out how to get the tach converted to electronic so that it's functional.

Default Tachometer

Easiest solution is as said above get a 75-76 hei electonic tach, It will fit right in your opening. I am not sure that your wiring harness has the connections for the electric tach, probably not. So you would have to either find an accessory harness or hard wire it yourself. I have seen a lot of tachs on ebay. Or you could order from a supplier like Zip, or Ecklers at a higher price.

Clocks by Roger can convert your mechanical tach to electronic. You could use 75-77 stuff as suggested as well, but the face won't match your speedo, and I don't like the later speedo with the KPH figures. My .02
