Default wide front tires

Anybody running some 9.5" wide rims in the front. in 17 or 18" diameters? How does it look?

Guru, thought we may have passedd through this topic, maybe not, ....but I have 17x9.5 '92 vette rims on my '72 here, and I can say you will be able to run 255/50/17 in front BUT you have to limit your radius, or learn to relax the wheel in tight turns....as the sway bar and/or frame hits the tires....

now having said that, largest I ever heard of in front is 235 in a stock configuration....
meanint with a 15 inch wheel, and 60 series tire, that's pushing it....

my steering was limited by extending the lower rub/snub block on the rear of the A arms...simple by adding a bolt with some washers/nuts on it for about 3/4 inch buildout...

Years ago when I ran the only thing available, a 275/40/17 tire in front, from a C4 vette, the tires just barely fit, with the limited steering, barely....

I had 255/50/R15 on the stock front wheels without any problems. You can go much larger with the correct offset and fender flares.

Actually I have 255 60 15s They rub slightly (on a non-sharp part of the frame, and only at the rear) at full lock. Just have to remember it in parking lots.

I bought the car with 275 60 -15d on it and they rub lightly on the front thats why I went with the 255s.

I am thinking about some 275/40-18s. they are 26.8" in diameter. on the 9.5" rim if I stay with the same 4 inch backspacing I am just curious if they will rub too.

I'm running 245/50/15 on stock rims and lowered front end at 26.25" fender lip height. No probs.
