I use a puller, forget it's proper name that tightens around the ball joint thru it's 2 arms and a threaded stud that I torque against the ball joint's stud. With that said it's been apart 6 times so now I just loosen the nut and it slips off all on it's own.

VBP's 550's on sale now for $59 from $79. Now's the time. Many, including myself, are happy with the 1 to 1 1/2 inch drop. I don't feel there too stiff, but then I had 780 lbs/in FoMoCo Boss 302 springs in my 2400 lb '67 mustang and liked that too.

I've been looking at my ride height after reading this thread and now I'm pissed.
I bought the Grand Touring suspension package from VB&P and after installing the car looked like a damn 4x4.
I had to get longer rear spring bolts to get it to the 28.5 rear height its at now!
My ride height is 28 in the front and 28.5 in the rear. Not perfect but far better than it was before I got longer bolts.
You'd have thought VB&P would have designed a set that suits the Vette.
Looks like I'm going to have to do more freekin modifications! Longer rear bolts and cutting of the coils!
You can bet that VB&P is not getting any more of my money for new 550's

I got the 550# springs from VBP and they lowered my front 1 1/4". I like it a lot. Can't wait to do the back end! I will be getting a spring from VBP for the rear end, not to mention poly trailing arm bushings and stainless shim kit.

Need to get some 17" wheels to complete the package.

I know, but my point is that VB&P is selling an incorrect product. Now I have to spend more money on something that should have been correct the first time.
