Are 487X heads any GOOD?
I have a 350 base engine, matching numbers in my 72 with the 487X heads.
Are these any good? What do they compare to? Not much has been written about these.
I would like to upgrade to some aftermarket heads but I am torn with keeping the car all original.
Soooo do these heads have any potential?

They are the best head for a 72 car if you want to maintain stock heads. As far as for performance you would be way ahead buying a set of new heads. The modern castings outflow the old ones by a lot. You will spend $$$ to get the 487 heads to flow decent but you can buy replacement heads that flow better right out of the box.
