Fiberglass sidepipe cover question

What is measurment from car to inside of cover,I was thinking of tring these with 3-inch exhaust pipe.

Pretty sure I've seen people running 3" pipes under the 'glass covers.

I was looking to add glasspacks to quiet mine down. 3" will fit fine, 4" wont.
