What's this wire?
At the base of the 3-4 shift level on the side of the manual tranny is a switch with a single black wire coming off of it. It's cut.

It's the TCS, transmission controlled spark system...in short it prevents vacuum advance operation untill high gear

It should be the TCS transmission switch. It is an emissions thing of the era.

Thanks. My distributor doesn't have vacuum advance, so I guess I can leave it disconnected.
