The hood changed in 73. A stock 73-up hood will not line up at the rear and by the door. You need an aftermarket hood like the one Eckler's sells, designed to do what you are trying to do.

Cart3113 wants a long hood to eliminate the wiper door so he asked about a later 70's... 73 up. For all practical purposes a 68-72 hoods are alike... with minor differences. My late 69 has the same latches as a 70. There are two style and they are not interchangable so you need to know which style you have.
