Default Pertronix ignitorII

This is the electronic pic-up that replaces the points in the distributor, mine has failed one month after installation. It was not fun riding the tow truck home last night Does anyone here use these??? Is it just bad luck or Am I wasting money?????

Ignitor II are real POS! I have one and it failed after about 3 months. The Ignitor was better, the best bet is to convert your stock distributor to HEI.
http://davessmallbodyheis.com $175.00 to convert your old distributor.

There are some other people that sell electronic oonvertors,
Crane Cams is one that comes to mind, but I don't know how reliable they are.

Join the club. Why people continue to waste money on these pieces of junk I'll never know.

It's the only aftermarket piece I know that turns a benign maintenance task (adjusting points once a year) into a sudden show stopper like you had.

I have the Crane XRi in my 74. Had it for about a year now, no problems with it.

Had it in for 12 months now and no sign of wear and car drives flawlessly. Really think it's a matter of proper install. My .02

Mine failed after about two or three months use. After having to swap the points back into the distributor in the middle of the night at a gas station I was not going back. I returned mine and got my money back. I have since moved to the more pricey MSD setup and have had not troubles with it.
