I'm bending a new high tech "Lars" fuel line (with in line filter) and have a question.
The outlet from the pump to the carb faces towards the rear of the vehicle. On my current line I bent a 180 degree turn in the line so it could be routed up the front of the block.
Question: Did GM put a 90 degree adapter on the pump so the outlet faces the block?
CAn I just get a brass adapter at a hardware store to get this to work?
Is it a GM part? NAPA perhaps?
I went to NAPA and they did not have the fitting. Anyway I asked to see a new fuel pump (I bought my cheapo one at Autozone). They didnt have one for a 74 in stock so I asked to see one from a 74 Camaro with a 350.
Bottom line is that the outlet on the Camaro pump is facing the block thus no need for the adapter.
I think I'll just get a new pump and forget about the bubba pipe fittings.
Incidently, the Corvette pump was twice the cost of the Camaro one....go figure.

My NAPA fuel pump did not have the 90 degree brass fitting. The original pump did have it. My NAPA store had the brass fitting and it doesn't leak, so far (2+ years).
