My '78 seats are really a pain in my a$$ and look pretty crappy as well. I think it's time for an upgrade. Other than the upgrading to after market or to later model Corvette seats, has anybody done any unique swaps? I saw where one member used Fiero seats which is a pretty cool swap Fiero Seat link . Anybody used late model seats from other cars (other than vettes) that worked out well? Please post your pics.
I once saw a vette with Porsche 911 seats, those are DAMN nice seats and they offer a lot of support too. I'm probably going to install some kirkey seats.
The 80-81 seats in my 74 were shot! I had a local stitch up the tears. I got some good Sheepskin Seat Covers and spray glued them on. I have been very happy w/results. Warm in the winter and cool in the heat! Make sure you get the better quality sheepskins. The cheap ones will pull apart.
I'm going to use 87 chrysler conquest seats , they look just like recaro's and should be almost a bolt in job with my brackets and a fabbed adapter which is nothing more than flat plate of steel with drilled holes .

Saw these 87 Conquest seats on ebay. They do look pretty cool. The seat bottoms look a lot taller than stock though ? Maybe it's just the picture?
I assume from the number replys on this topic, that people either haven't tried many of these types of swaps. Or there is just not a whole lot of choices out there that work well?
Do you remember the Olds Cutlass's that used swivel buckets? That would be cool. Or how about all those 82-87 Mustangs that came with Recaros? I'll bet you'll find some at a local scrap yard.
Good Idea. Also seems like late model Z28 or Trans Am would work? I may just go to a salvage yard with a tape measure and see what they have that would work in a C-3?
My father put a set of leather seats out of a 99 Trans-Am in his 78. They looked pretty hot. They ended up being too tall for me, but they fit him perfectly.
