I posted a while back that i needed new heads due to an overheating accident. Anyways, i'm looking to spend about $400 is possible. I dont need the best heads at this point, i only need them to for my SBC 350 L-82 for a 78 vette so the car is driveable again. I would like to get new ones if possible. Do you guys know of any in this price range? thanks a bunch :*****
also i can't afford to buy heads that require a different intake manifold..

do you have an aluminum intake, cuz if you do, i would buy aluminum heads, but if not, goto gm perfomance parts and look at the vortec heads, those are really nice.
Vortec heads may be in your price range, but I think you would have to buy a matching intake manifold. For a very good price, you might want to look at World Products cast iron heads. Summit Racing carries them, but you can look on their web site for more info. I have a set of their 2.02/1.60, 67cc heads on my 75 and I love them. They have several price ranges I believe.
If all you want is "get-it-going-again" heads just ask your machinist what he has laying around, or ask the guy that owns the local NAPA or CarQuest if he has/knows about any. Small-block heads in stock form should not be too hard to find.
I asked the mech what he could get soon and he sayd i got some for $350 each brand new. I'm not sure what kind, i'll find out tomorrow, but does this sound reasonable?
