Can't remove antenna from 74 coupe

I need to remove the antenna from my 74 coupe so I can put on a new outdoor cover. I don't think the antenna has been taken off in the 29 years I've had the car. A friend showed me how to remove it, but it won't budge. Help!!!

All I can say, is be paitent, use lots of liquid wrench, and tighten loosen tighten loosen even if it is not budging, the force you put going back and forth will eventually loosen it!

my antenna is solid on too.

I didnt want to fool with it to much. Id either brake the antenna of do something with the fiber glass.

I had an old cotton car cover. I just snipped a hole for the thing to poke through.

I only want to snip a hole in the cover as a last resort. I want to keep the cover intact.
I'll keep trying with the liquid wrench.
