Why would even want to put C5 emblems on your C3. The "older" style emblems have a certain "flair, style, persona" (call it what you like) to them. They have a look to them that tells you someone actually spent some time thinking of their design.
I'm thinking about getting me some C6 ones. I like them and they kind of look like the 80-82 flags...or a Le Mans commemorative edition decal. I may paint my car that blue w/ the silver, red and carbon on the hood...probably replace carbon w/ gray.
My front has a c5 emblem to compliment the electronblue paint i think it looks like its supposed to be on there.Corz has one too.The fuel door one i dont know if it fits or not i think it might be too big,but not positive.
Q: Why would he want to put C5 emblems on his Vette? Well Gentlemen I believe it is called "Matter of taste" Loving the original look is great if that's a persons thing; I totally respect that.. But I have been receiving flak for years over the fender louvers and the turbo street wing on my ride. Needless to say.. "You like it, it's yours, do whatever you like when it comes to personalizing your ride." Let's see some pics when you get those emblems on.
Correctamundo! Personal taste versus die hard original factory will always start a "discussion" no matter what sort of car we're talking about...
I involved she-who-must-be-obeyed this morning about the emblems. I was in 2 minds about going for the original crossed flags or ones off a C5, and couldn't decide. she-who-must-be-obeyed preferred the originals so I've ordered them! She also picked the 84-90 "Corvette" emblem for the rear bumper over the standard 82 jobbie...
I have a mate in Australia who owns a sign writing factory. Apart from painting, he can also make up signs, decals, emblems, whatever on computer and "print" it out on vinyl. So... I might give hom a few ideas I have and see about getting some "original" emblems made - keep everyone guessing
Well now I'm convinced. I'm going to get the old Ford 427 Thunderbird emblems for my Vette for the front fenders and then get the "Magnum" lettering from a Mopar for the hood and "The Judge" for the rear quarter panel and DEFINITELY the Plymouth Superbird wing for the rear deck. All that will set off my doggie with the bobbing head on the dashboard and the fuzzy dice hanging from my rear view mirror. Of course, I already have the "spinner ****" for the steering wheel.
Deb .. Shut up it was so quiet......until you returned
TT: I am back by popular demand. All my loyal followers e-mailed me and told me the C3 Forum was full of newbies posting dumb stuff and boring the regulars silly with the same old questions. I couldn't believe that so I had to see for myself. Now leave me alone while I stick on the Roadrunner emblems. Ya know....what this board needs is another poll about SPLITTING THE C3 FORUM FOR A TECH SECTION!!!! Hehehe.
