The interior plastic in my 78 Pace Car has faded. Mostly the black dash up by the defroster vent, including the speaker grilles, and way in the back compartment above the rear speakers around the glass. I was thumbing thru several Vette catalogs and came across Mid America Motorworks interior paints. (page 3-150 in my catalog).
Has anyone used them? Satisfied?
Can I just clean the plastic real good and apply the paint, or do I need to get a can of the primer coat to apply first?

Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated!

Kevin,
I just finished redoing my entire interrior... I used "purple power" to clean trim parts, then wiped with denatured alcohol and finally painted with the Corvette America interrior Dye...
Came out great! the thin nature of the interrior dye kept the grain in the parts (it does take 4 to 5 coats). Key here is to buy all you need in one order as the paint is mixed in batches and there are varying tones with each batch... I found out the hard way. Here are some pic...
I have a good friend with a BEAUTIFUL '69 that he painted himself & did 100% of the interior himself. If he could start his own paint and body shop, he could basically write his own ticket, but for $$$ reasons can't (he is that good).Anyway.......
When he replaced his interior plastic/vinal pieces, some of them did not match 100% so he custom color matched 1 of the pieces, abd had a couple quarts of lacquer mixed at the local paint supply house. He sprayed everything (except the seat covers of course) and they look as good today as they did 5+ years ago.
I was surprised that you could do this, but he did!
