Default Spicer or Moog switcharoo?

I jack the car up, pull off the tie rods and open the boxes to put on the new tie rod ends I bought at a local parts store.

Hmmm...

4 tie rod ends, 3 diffent styles. The 2 outers were black, 1 inner was mostly cast and looked different than the 2 outers, and the other inner was a "MOOG PROBLEM SOLVER" and looked different than all the others. All of which came from Spicer boxes.

So I brought em back and said I would like to have two new inners to match the outers, or at least 2 new inners that were the same as each other. Well, to make a long story short an "ASE" certified parts guy told me the only thing to worry about was that they fit not what they look like.

What?

Sure a lot of stuff fits on our cars, but they have to be right too. I returned all four to them right then.

I thought that going with Spicer was a good call, even though the price was higher than some other places, but turns out that you don't know what you are going to get.

So since the car is up on the jacks and nobody else around here has the parts, I am going to a sponsored vendor to pick some up - hopefully they will all look the same... Any suggestions?

Am I asking for too much - I don't think so. And who goes out of their way to say they are ASE certified, like that's going to make up for the fact that their box contents are all messed up. I don't care if you're Mr. Goodwrench - I just want what I paid for.
