Default new wheels for c-3s

For those of us wanting bigger and different wheeels for our c-3s (mine is a silver/charcoal 81' ) The new Corvette Central C3 catalog shows a ZR1 style 5 spoke 17x8 with correct back spacing and offset in silver and some thing called Hyper black ( no chrome ) for 719.95 a set.Also shows a ZO6 17x8.5 in chrome and black direct bolt on. i have a set of silver ZR1s ordered for my car.

Those will look really nice on a C3! Get us some pics when you get them in. You will be very pleased with the 17" wheel and lower profile tires. I know I am. They significantly improved the handling of the car by themselves.

At the risk of sounding rude;
NO.

I think it'll make the car look 'heavy', making any definition of the wheel 'hidden'.....

Why Corvette Central hasn't offered these in chrome is a mystery to me.

The ZO6 wheel is very nice, too, but why would they offer the C5 logo on a wheel made for C3s and earlier?

And, what's with the fake 'screws'?

Those arent fake screws, they are fake beadlocks. Many of the old school rims in the 80's used to have them

I know that; I remember those modular/ BBS-style wheels...
my question is;
WHY?

'fake' is still 'fake'

Good looking wheels, what size tire do you figure on running while not rubbing on the fenders. I am considering Vintage 45s for my white/black 70 vert, but now I am thinking those black Z06 wheels might be the ticket. I was going to go with 16X8, decisions, decisions....
