Accel HEI recurve kit
Anyone using this kit? For the life of me I don't know which way to install the middle plate. Should the weight swing out and push on the flatter side or the curved side of that plate? The stock one was so flat all around I can't tell from that.
I installed it how I thought and with 36 degrees total advance I am at 24 initial at 600 rpm... ouch (yes the vacuum advance is disconnected) I pushed the weights all the way out with no springs to make sure the rotor wasn't interfering... all good. Drilled the bushing out a little so the weights swing easily in and out. Light lube on things... The action is very smooth. I pulled the distributor and cleaned everything up and relubed where necessary.
so, anyone using this setup?
off to get a new starter, this one is just about done.
