I have a 30 min + drive to work each day and would like a holder for my coffee cup. I guess they were not a top priority with GM back in "the day". Any ideas that won't look too Bubba-ish?
C3's are not allowed to have cupholders...drive the mini-van...
Isn't that why God gave you two legs? To place really hot coffee between them when driving in bumper to bumper traffic in the early AM when everyone is only half awake? LOL
I have one of those wooden cup holders that slips onto the parking brake. Came with the car- first time I drove and it snagged onto my pants when my 6'3" self tried to get out of the car (thus spilling my super big gulp all over the pass. seat) and broke. Been sitting on top of my tool box ever since.
Yea, I'm doing the between the legs thing right now and have come close but not set my crotch on fire, yet. Maybe one of those helmet beer holders with a hose....
I appreciate the link but that looks about as classy as a helmet holder IMHO. I thnk I'd rather tough it out with the crotch balance. There has got to be a better way...
Yup, thats the one. They overhang the seats on the edges. The end gets stuck on a pocket/belt loop/whatever when you go to get out of the car.
I prefer the "crotch cupholder" although not by much.
I have a slightly broken one I could sell ya cheap! LOL

Thats why I said "if you must have one" I don't like them either.
they have some that look slightly better than the one in that link but all the ones ive seen slip over the emergency brake, you could also try one of those generic ones that slip in the sill of your window they sell those at almost any automotive store like pep boys, we used to have oe a long time ago and it works pretty well, but it does have a tendency to fall out every now and again

When the late C2's and early C3's were built, you had a choice of six engines, four transmissions and five different rear end gear ratios. GM did not have time to worry about cup holders!!

I have one that screws into the e-brake console using the existing holes. It worked OK, but it stuck out a little from the sides of the console and dug into my leg so I took it off. Now, if I take anything in the car to drink at all it is a bottle of water with a top on it. I just throw in on the passenger seat or in rear compartment if there is someone else in the car with me.

I always carry a large bottle of water. Two reasons primarily, the first being that my floor with the Super Comp 2 1/8 headers raises my floor tem to 400 degrees under my feet. This requires adequate water supply to replenish the sweat draining from my body. The second reason being is that when the floor mat inevitably catches fire (again) I have a quick means of cooling it or down before the whole car goes up in flames! I'm not kidding either Last summer I went for the brake pedal to find my heel was stuck through the floor, I wrenched my foot out to find the heel on my new shoes had burned off from resting on the collector flange
Andre-
I think you need to do something a little more proactive than a bottle of water!!! Heat shields/insulation/different headers? Just MHO, but I would hate to see another thread with pics of a burned out vette!
I've had 4 fuel leaks in my vette this spring, and my stupid a** didn't get a fire extingusher till after the 3rd one! Don't leave home whithout it now. New fuel lines/new fuel pump and soon a new carb are fixing the problem- the extinguisher is there just in case...
Cheers!
