Transmission Kickback Cable Question

Can someone supply me with some pics on the throttle kickback cable for the transmission on a 76 or so corvette. Mine just sits in the slider, and I would think that it should attach with a c-clip or something. It just doesn't look right. This is the part that connects to the carb if you're not sure what I'm talking about. Thanks.

it's all good

My 77 is the same way... at idle it sits somewhere close to the front of that slider (towards the radiator)

It works just fine the way it is so I haven't messed with it at all.
