Hitches show up on Ebay from time to time for the bumper years. I've seen them on later cars too. Check with U-haul, they have a good selection. That being said, I would not want one on my car-I think they detract from the looks. My .02
There is supposed to be a tow setup that hides behind the
license plate (on a spring hinge). Behind the plate is the
smaller (1 1/4" ?) receiver. I don't know if these are
considered factory, dealer add-ons, or aftermarket.
I remember when my vette was my only car. If not that, why drive a big ol truck to the beach when you can go in a vette?
I think I did see a towing package as an option on one of the vette facts websites. Probably wouldn't be hard to hide a class 2 receiver behind a pull down rear license plate. (Remember when cars had the gas cap under the plate?)

If you really want a pull a jet-ski it wouldn't be that hard to hide a small reciever behind the plate or just under the bumper. I don't know of any bolt-on option made specifically for an 80 C3, but it wouldn't be hard custom job.
Did Chevrolet offer a Towing Package on any C-3s ? I would like to be able to tow my jet ski with my 80 corvette.
Yes, Chevrolet did have a towing package for the years of 1977 to 1981. You will have to find someone that has a tow package to see how to place and what type is placed on there vette. Good Luck.
I was also thinking of doing the same here on my 82 CE. You never know!
I had a hitch on my 74, it came with the car. The main part bolted to the differential and a couple of other places. Then the bar went to the back of the car but was removable (for looks and spare tire removal) and it worked great. I would pull a 20 foot boat with an I/o and cuddy cabin - and the vette was as stable as a rock. Plenty of power, great towing brakes and terrific traction up slippery ramps. Who would guess? I'm sure my boat was 3 to 4 times the weight of your Ski. If you are backing the car into salt water just make sure you wash the under carriage off good when you flush the ski. Perfect car to tow the ski with. Mine had standard radiator, nothing special for towing, 3:08 with t-400.
I have a hitch on my 77. I use it to pull my boat, make runs to home depot. Its my idea of an SUV You should see the looks I get at the boat launch putting a sailboat in with a Corvette.
Actually my 80 rolled off the line with the towing package, but by the time I got the car the hitch was gone a long time ago.The package included the heavy duty suspension and a heavy duty radiator which are still on the car. The radiator is HUGE, at least twice as thick as the stock one,and with the rear sway bar it really handles well.
A factory hitch was an option for a couple of years, '78 being one of them. A guy I know has a '78 Silver Ann. with the factory hitch. Start searching the web, and you may find one.
