Anybody know where I could get my hands on a pair of castle nuts for the rear shock mounts. I don't need the lower shock nuts which I've seen for sale. What I'm looking for is the nut that goes on the shaft for the strut rod. Thanks.
Man i had a time trying to find those. I went to lowes, and all the small hardware stores and none of them had them. Neither did the chevy dealer. The closest thing i found was the right size but it had standard threads. The corvette magizines have them but they are only worth getting if you are ordering other things as well. I ended up using my old ones. I messed them up by beating the shaft with a hammer with them on it. But i used a file and made them fit again. GOod luck
My mom's hardware store carries castle nuts, but I noticed something about them. The castle is on top of the nut on hers (her supply is servalite) whereas the castle nuts on the car seemed to be cut into the nut. Does everyone understand what I'm saying?
Most auto parts stores have the HELP selection of castle nuts. The only other place I have found them besides ordering from a vette parts place is at Lowes. Lowes has a nice selection of fasteners and included a few castle nuts.
