What's an LT1 engine worth?
I have an opportunity to make an offer on an almost new LT1 engine, it's been sitting since 1993 in dry conditioned storage. Although it's probably not the best choice of an engine, the price might be right, what do you guys think?

I had a 93 firebird formula v8 (LT1) and loved it ... great power ... should've bought it back from insurance co when it was totaled out (could've bought back at $800 but engine had 120K miles).
Just plan on having to replace the optic-spark distributor sooner or later ....
I would much rather have an LS-1 though (like in my C5)

Looking at ebay, it seems they go for 1500-2000 or somewhere around that. There is one on there for 2700, but i doubt anyone will pay that. LS1s with 6 speed tranny usually go for about 4k on ebay.

I just sold a new 1996 LT1 w/ LT4 "Hot" cam kit and roller rockers. The engine had 10,000 on it, I replaced the pistons w/ forged and had the cylinder walls and heads checked. I sold it for $2,500. Like stated above low mile LT1's are going for $1500-$2,500 depending on condition.

I have a friend with 2 for sale. Both 93s from Vettes with around 50k miles. Complete with factory harness, computer, and all accessories. He wants $3000 with a 4L60E and $3500 with a ZF 6-speed.
