Default line lock

Toying with the idea of putting a line lock on my '77. Where is a good supplier and how much of a hassle is it to install. I have done brake work but make a lousy double flare. Do they come with necessary lines to hook up or will I have to make my own. What should I count on spending?
Thanks

I think you need to make your own lines and flares. I heard it wasnt very difficult, but i guess you need to install it between the proportioning valve and front brakes. The c5 guys seem to like the TCI unit better, they said it lasted longer then the hurst and was cheaper.

I have the TCI unit on mine. I installed it between the master cylinder and the Prop. valve. There are two lines coming out of the valve so the install there would not work. The front line off the master controls the front brakes only. Insall it anywhere on that line and you are good to go.

Thanks for the responses. Like I said just toying with the idea for now but figured I'd check with the Forum for some experienced advice like I always do before attempting something new. This forum is the best.

Buy one of the "Blondo" (sp) units at Summit. They are about $40-50 and work as good as any.

Any NAPA has the two brake lines you need to install (I think they were about $6-7 each).

Other than bleeding the front calipers (the hardest part of the install) it is easy.

GS and someone else had the biondo unit. They said that it leaked for the first week, then after that it stopped and was fine. Something about a oring inside the unit that needed to swell, once it swelled, the leaking stopped.

Is it true there are two ways of installing a line lock, one on the front brakes to hold the front pressure, the other on the rear to interupt the brake pressure, Whats the difference?
