I'm really into the 60's Trans-Am and GT look. What do you think about my idea to put scoops on the sail area? Kind of like on a GT40, Ferrari or old GT Mustang. They would be functional as they would have a hose routed to cool the rear brakes. Yay or Nay?
I have always done everything else to it based on my opinion alone. But on this area I would kind of like to see what others might think. I'm definitly not trying to look to the purist, NCRS type of guys for opinions on it. They of course would say nay to any non factory type of change. I want to know from anyones point of veiw who can imagine what the scoops would really look like, keeping in mind the overall GT look that I'm going for.
Mako, thanks for the compliment.

[My thoughts were always do whatever makes you happy. If keeping you car 100% stock is your thing go for it. If adding scoops to the C pillars is what you want, then do it. Personally, I think it'll look pretty cool!

Cosmetically, I have no opinion. But as to function, you'd best be careful with your hose routing, unless you never drive it in the rain. I wouldn't want to dump water on my rear rotors even a small fraction of the time.
You may want to consider how long you intend to keep the car. I don't know your cars condition, but modifications like this can seriously hurt the value of your 'Vette. Just something to think about.
Below is a paint pic to kind of get a better idea of how they would look.
My intentions are to have the car forever. At least that's what I intend. I know there's no way I can ever get back out what I put in to it (how many of us can?).
As far as the ducting and water on the rotors goes, I'll never drive it on even a slightly damp road. Strictly a fair weather go fast friend (no windows either, hence the name litevette). But that's a good point and thank you for it.
Rolm, you've obviously never seen Chris MacDonald's, Lasse's or Chris's protege's cars. Most would agree that they are awesome and those cars are heavily modded too. Like I said, I'm not looking for feedback from the NCRS winning "My hoses have the correct little lettering on them" types.

Rolm, I'm sorry but I don't understand?
Joe, I've only seen one Grand Sport and man was it cool looking! I didn't know they had the scoops too. I guess I'll search for some pics of a Grand Sport so I can get a better idea. Thanks for the insight.
That makes two people who say yay!
O.K. I searched and found a pic of a Grand Sport. Yes, that's exactly the size of scoop I'm looking for. Only difference is in where it will be placed (Grand Sports are on the fender).
