Headlight Help
I will listen to all advice..........."77 L-48 the wonderful problem of the headlights not going up or down.......
the lights turn on and I can raise and lower manually, but not by themselves.... here is what I have done so far:
1. removed headlight switch, seems to work fine...... on/off as far as the vaccum part goes
2. checked little bleed off valve below dash........ seems to shut off good, no leaking
3. tightened manifold vacuum T .. behind carb .... and replaced the short hoses
not knowing alot about these cars, if I can take off one of the vacuum lines from the vacuum "switch" under the front of the car and blow in the lower one the light will raise, blow in the upper one and the light will lower,(or vice-versa, can't remember) does this mean the actuators are good? If so, what else do I need to check? ......Thanks, Robert
Make sure this check valve is not leaking and working properly...if it leaks it can wreak havoc on the light's operation. Make sure your air filter in front of it is clear too...the white piece.
