Default Window problem

Ok so far thanks to you guys my restoring project is doing great. I have a problem with the windows, the power windows work fine, but they only go up like 95% up, and after that you hear the window motor 'strugling' or a skipping sound. They go down, and up just fine, but they leave like a 1" gap from weather stripping.

Any help would be great!

I have not fix mine yet but they do the same. I have to open the door for them to go all the way up. I noticed my gaskets are vary dry and I also will do a window adjustment as described on the corvettefaq web site as soon as I get to the door panel replacement stage.

You might try watching the window regulators with the door panels off. It's the half-moon looking thing with the gears along the bottom edge that mate up with the drive gear on the power window motor.

The gears might be worn or the mechanism might need adjusting. Just a thought.

I have the same problem. My windows worked fine until I replaced the inner wiskers and outer rubber seals. Now they both will not go up without assistance. I can really hear the motor struggle trying to get the window up with the new rubber and wishers. Someone suggested silicon spray to soften up the rubber, that is what I'm going to try next.

The large gear is probably bad, aftermarket replacements are stronger.

Adjust, lube the moving parts w/ white lithium grease & have good electrical connections.
