Default Previous post on adjusting door gaps?

I've been searching the archives for a post I saw before the change over but can't find it. Someone had posted specific instructions on which mount points to shim to close/open the fender-door and door-pillar gaps. If anyone remembers that or can tell me how to find it I would appreciate it. I tried every combination of door, gap, etc in the search.

I've got a 1/2 gap at the top of the left door in front and back, and 1/2 in the front of the right door. I've tried shimming at #1 and #4 mounts and it doesn't have any effect.

Both doors are rigged in otherwise. Any help?

My money is on Frame and bird gage rot. Things are letting go due to rust and rot. The first thing you shoud do is correct the rust/rot and then you may try a few shims or you may need new body mounts. Get a second opinion by a pro before you start. Keep us posted I will bet you that 80% to 95% have tha same problem as you.

When you say you've tried shimming, does that mean you added shims? I think removing shims would help close the gap at the top of the door. Also the bonding on the front clip may be letting go allowing the front to sag. If all other means fail, you could remove the doors and glass in some material to fit and paint to match.

I know its not rust, I just did a body off restore on the frame. Anyhow, I tried adding and removing shims in a lot of combinations and the gaps don't change. I'm just gonna glass it in when I do the final body work.
