I have the rear suspension and driveline out of the car (painting the rear of the chassis). The car has 68k miles on it. I am having new seals put in the differential and changing the gear oil, new bushings, new caliper kits, and new brake pads.
The universals never gave me a problem but since the shafts are out I figured I would do something with them. Can the caps be taken off and relubed and then reused? If so, what type of grease would be recommended? This project, as expected, has gone over budget and I would like to minimize any more expenses. Six new joints would run another $120 with shipping.
If the can't be regreased, then I will more than likey reuse what I have. The other thing I did notice is that Eckler's and such only carry the u-joints with the zerk fittings. Does anyone carry the Spicer joints that would original (non-greasable)?
