Default how much is a 76 worth

I am looking for a classic daily driver. I have found a 76 350 auto that I can get for 3500. It starts but it has been sitting for 10yrs. the brakes dont work and the radiator is shot. Paint in not great but complete and could be buffed to a decent shine. The front bumper is in pieces. The lights are stuck up and missing the vacuum motors. It has the original motor and has 70K miles. It also has a nonfacory spioler bonded permanently on the trunk. the interior is passable and the dash pad is cracked but ok for a driver.

if I buy this for 3500, what can I expect to pay to get the car in daily driver shape?

Are there hidden things that can be wrong that would make this a bad buy?

What could I expect to sell this for in 5 years if all was in order?

Thanx for all the help in advance.

Scott

Brakes - four calipers and master cylinder = $750

Radiator, hoses, heater core = $500

AC? Sky's the limit

Body work? Sky's the limit

Interior? Ask me in a month - the more I tear outta mine, the more I wish I'd left it in!

Make sure the frame is in good shape. See if you can spend a few grand more and get a car in better shape. You realize that it's going to cost you at least $1500 to get this car going (Rad, brakes, front bumper) so your cost right now is $5000 for the car.

I'm sure if you keep looking you can get a pretty decent car that you can drive right away for 5K and fix it up here and there while still driving it. This might save you a few headaches. If you have your heart set on this particular car, then check the frame. Good luck.

Good advice you were given about checking the frame. Even worse then the frame is the windshield frame and rocker channels. I believe those are the first places to rot out on any C3 because the steel is a lot thinner. fitting new bumper covers is no easy task either, especially the front. Check out the 3rd page of my web site, you'll see what I mean, or read about the project (and what you could be getting into) here: http://www.crossedflags.com/nuke/htm...howpage&pid=24
