Default Outside window seals or "Whiskers"?

Has anybody replaced these before? Mine were in a box when I bought the car. From what it looks like these are 2 peice. 1 piece is the trim and the other is the whiskers or window scraper.
Does anyone know if the trim peice is chrome or stainless?
Who has bought these and where did you get them?
Was the quality good?
How do they re attach to the door, rivets or screws?

Thanks

Hello???? What happened to all the guys that used to be restoring or redoing their old Vette's. I am starting to sway to the split forum crowd for technical questions.

Help! Anybody???

I just some from Zip. They have a reproduction for $55 and a replacement for $30. Quality is good. Whisker part has clips (not really but best word) that go through the chrome and into the door. Then, there are 4 screws (2 at the ends in the chrome and two further in through the entire assembly) that secure it. Took me about 10 min to remove mine so the car can go to the body shop.

I did it. I ordered them from Corvette Central. I think the trim was stainless and I cleaned and reused my old ones. I just got the wiskers, which come with ball like tabs that pop in the existing holes thru the stainless and the door. I remember having to remove one ball that wasn't lined up with the holes, but the pieces still fit ok without it. It's not that hard( after all I did it) if you look at the assembly manual.

Corvete Central has the only correct pieces.

Other repros prevent proper window operation.

Also, if you are making a real nice car you may be able to find NOS pieces.
