Default Rolm is right, so grow up.

I may not agree with the way he puts things, but the main fact he is trying to pitch is that a Vette with correct factory parts, is worth more any day of the week, than a Vette, that has all these aftermarket hot rod parts. When I looked for my Vette, I purposely stayed away from the modded ones, as those were the ones that I felt had been beaten to death. I bought a nice daily driver, and did my own mods, and then beat it, but I also saved the OEm parts to put back on in case I sell it again someday.

I would pay more for vette with good aftermarket upgrades, It would save me the cost of having to do them.

Maybe you would, but look at the Corvette Auction results. Correctly restored Vettes with all OEM parts, will bring at least twice that of a tricked out Vette of the same year.

It's possible, but I still feel safer doing the mods myself and knowing they are being done right, rather than hope that Bubba did them correctly before I bought it.

As far as value goes, he is correct. However, his other comments have been way out of line. For example, his assertion that headers don't improve power is way off base. Then he basically said that I had engine problems because I rebuilt it myself which he just assumed from my post. Plus, stating that people that do their own rebuilds are stupid not talented.

Overall, he is on the negative side of my ledger.

If you go to your User Control Panel you can add him to your ignore list and then all his posts are blocked. It works great, now I wont ever have to read his comments again.

Haha - doing it yourself is the ONLY way to get it right - IMO.

Anyone that doesn't charge an outrageous fee to fix your vette
is just taking your $$.

Perhaps his comments were taken out of context.
For example - large tube headers do not necessarily improve
response on a small engine - even though they flow better.
Perhaps top speed could be improved, but acceleration is compromised ?

Of course, calling someone a troll doesn't help matters, either.

I took his 'profits' post as stating that you don't have to spend
mega bux to make your vette valuable. Now, I didn't comment
on his thoughts. they seemed to be cast out without thinking
it through.

Is he a 14 YO troll ? Who knows. If you don't like what he says, ignore him.

With the exception of taking him out of context, I know you're probably right Dave, but I just let calling peoples ideas stipid and things like this get to me...gotta get over it..

Really, you think that is what he is trying to pitch? Judging by the content of his posts, I believe he is trying to tell us we are all idiots for installing aftermarket carbs, headers, and other parts...and god forbid you work on your own car and do something as drastic as change the timing!

I would pay 4 times as much for Monty's highly modified car than any other 82 on the market...period...and it would be a steal at that price. Just because it's not stock does not make it a bad car....you can look at street rod prices compared to stock 30's and 40's car prices to figure that out.

Adding 1 5/8" primary headers lowered my 0-60 time from 7.1 to 6.6 seconds on the 78, no other changes.

Guys, we all need to be friends here. Many or most replies you get here are nothing more then one person's opinion. It's nice to get many replies so you can make the choice of the best solution to your question or problem. I just can't hardly wait, someday I will probably be in the frying pan because I am a little outspoken on rust issues with the C3's. I will apologize in advance right now. In the meantime, these are only cars, and as the owner you should do whatever makes you the happiest.
