Wiring harness? Keep it or toss it?
I am fed up with my frame-on restoration electrical problems. 
What other years are dash wiring harnesses compatible to a '68?
I am going to start asking in the parts section first...
Next, I'll search ebay...
Finally, I'll spring for the $350 from "The Last Detail" corvette parts store.
Am I off base? and what should I look out for?

I did the same as you. I got rid of the dash harness and all of its problems and sprung for the harness from TLD. Everything just drops in place and plugs right in. Take your time when installing it and everything will be fine. As for the old harness, some of the connectors may be of use for some of the other members here. Just offer them up and if no one wants them, trash the old harness. That is what I did.
