New C3 and questions
I wanted a corvette since I was 7 years old and rode in a brand new '75 stingray. After 29 years, I finally got one last week.
I found one that seemed like a good deal and felt if I didn't snag it, someone else definately would. It was a "divorce sale"......
She is a 1977 "Stealthray". I call her that because she is the last C3 with the vert. rear window and factory alarm (which is identical to the previous coke bottle-shaped Stingrays), but without the "Stingray" emblems, she's operating in stealth mode! Anyway........ she is #56 Corvette Bright Yellow, brown leather (#692) interior with black/chrome trim, t-tops, A/C, rear de-fog, tilt steering, power everything but the locks, slotted aluminum wheels, 350/180hp? previous owner had bigger cam installed (I love it), has all the emissions crap on it (for now), 4-speed manual but not sure which one yet, and she's been garage-kept by the two former owners and has 63k original miles.
I'm hoping that the nice folks here will help me in my new Corvette adventure. I already have a bunch of questions about:
Getting rid of all the emissions equipment
Where can I get the lowest priced pre-formed replacement exhaust (2.5 to 3 inch without mufflers) that will bolt to the new headers (either Dynomax or Summit brand for now)
Tips/advice (regarding the vac lines/egr junk) on switching out the factory egr manifold and pile of dog squeeze q-jet that sits on top (yes, you can buy it) with an Edelbrock #2101 manifold (because the tech at Edelbrock said that the hi-rise RPM I was going to use won't fit under the '77 hood...and yes I've read the threads about that here) and an Edelbrock #1407 carb that I already have. I had to change the manifold and q-jet to Edelbrock when I bought my 1979 Camaro Berlinetta money pit. www.fratetrain.com/camaro.htm
I'm looking forward to being a member here and learning all I can about my newest pride and joy!
I live in Orlando so I have to go get ready for the deadly 145mph hurricane now.........I already stashed the Vette inside and said a prayer for her, so wish me/her luck. Good luck to any fellow Floridians in the path.

About the exhaust, almost no one makes prebent exhaust systems that match up to headers. You will have to go to the local muffler shop and have them make you an exhaust.
Good luck,
Gary

The heavy part of the storm is almost here!
Yes, George Lynch is the reason I started playing guitar. My hotmail address is Mister_Scary@ and the plate on my Camaro reads 2SCARY. Then there's my 2 Emperor scorpions Mr. and Mrs. Scary..........what obsession?!?!?
Anyhow, I'll try to upload the only picture I've taken so far. I'm definately going to take some better pictures the next chance I get.
