Default charging ac

I have a '78 vette and the ac needs charging. What are my options of having this done. Have any of you heard of something called "freezeair" or something like this that you can get from parts stores? Also, do you have to do a conversion kit to go to 134a?
Thanks,

I have had success using a new refrigerant # R-416A. The advantage R-416A has over some others, such as R-409A and R-414B is a much lower head pressure. The head pressure (high side pressure) is the same as R-12, at 120 degrees R-416A is 155 psig, R-12 is 157 psig, R-414B is 172 psi and R-409A is a whoping 197 psig. So I would stay away from 414-B. R-416A is a drop in replacement for R-12 ,no oil change is required and as you can see the head pressure is compatabile, the only problem is that 414A requires a lower suction pressure than R-12. If a car has an adjustable expansion devise (TXV) this is easy to do, but I think our vetts have a fixed orfice type of metering devise. So a slightly smaller charge is required to lower the suction pressure / temperature. This may reduce the cooling capicity a very small amount. Now how do you get some of this stuff, I don't know. I am an A/C contractor so I bought a 30 pound jug. There may be some auto mech's using this stuff though.
