Show me your red 'vettes!
My '81 is headed to the painter next week, and I'm having trouble picking a color. It was originally red, and since we don't want to jamb it, it's going back red once more. But I don't know what shade I want. Originally, I'd thought about the same shade as my 99 GMC pickup. It's a good, deep red. Not to orangey. Now we're leaning towards a metallic, but all the metallic reds I've seen are more maroon than red, at least to me. We found a Ford Laser Red Metallic that looked really nice in the sun, but still pretty maroon otherwise. But I'm not sure I want a Ford color on my Chevy
.
So line 'em up! Let me see what you all have and hopefully I'll be able to make up my mind and get this thing back out on the road!

Same car is bright light, then again it could be the camera's auto setting.

1969 Monza red in the sig picture. Orange as hell in certain kinds of light, though. But I likes it that way!

Factory red for a 79, paint code 72 I believe. It's pretty dark, kinda blood-colored rather than cherry.

I like Torch red, as seen on C-5's. It is very similar to Guards red(AKA Porsche red).
