Default C-3 Rear tire size

Does anyone know the widest/largest tire that can fit neatly on an aftermarket rim and not stick outside the wheel-well lip or hit the frame on a '68 vette??? Also, what is the correct wheel size/offset in order to accomplish this?

I have run 275/60R15 on the rear with offset trailing arms. But I think You'd be ok just be moving the Ebrake cable bracket.

Use the same offset as stock

I am currently running 275/40R18's in back with 6" offset. But I had to notch the frame a little up front. 5.5" is probably as far as you can go without cutting stuff.

I'm running 275/60/15 on the rear and had to re-locate the E-Brake. I recently installed offset trailing arms with gives me more clearance in the future.

A 255 mm wide tire, any diameter is about the widest you can safely use without modifications with factory wheel offset. Once you get larger than 17 or 18" diameter, the parking brake bracket is not an issue because the wheel is beyond it. However, with a wider tire the cable may rub and you may still have to relocate the bracket.
