Power Sport Mirrors
Does anyone know if the guts of the power sport mirrors are standard GM part items, or are the Corvette specific. I'm wondering because most of the vendors only list the left hand mirror, with no mention of a right hand mirror or any of the gears/motors/guts. my driver's side mirror has been stripped of practically everything except for the metal piece that everything mounts to, and I got to wondering if there's an easier (and hopefully cheaper) way to fix it short of buying a whole new mirror assembly. Anyone know?

C3 mirrors are not electrically powered except 81-82. Before that they had cables that operated the sport versions. I would think that the guts for the earlier ones might interchange with a Camaro, but not positive. The electric ones may be harder to change parts. The glass is probabaly available at a good glass shop. The motors and mounting are tougher. I would go to the junkyard and look at early 80s Cadillacs and Buicks for any chance.
