(drumroll, please) ...and the #1 Bubba trick is...
Using vise grips when removing and reinstalling metal brake lines!
Flare wrenches, my foot. All they do is strip the flare nut and make it harder for the vise grips to get a grip!
Ain't nuthin more Bubba than that...

problem with vise grips is that they're hard to hit with a hammer. Maybe if you use a bigger hammer....

Nah, just weld on a hammer flange or hook on a slide hammer and use that to beat the snot out of it.

I did the same thing when my brake line stripped from a flarenut wrench on another vechile. It saved me from replacing the entire brake line. Eric

When I feel the flare wrench will just round the nut I too resort to vise grips to break the line loose. Properly used vise grips do a good job. I even have different types of vise grips for different jobs.
