Going in some time but not this year. Carb needs to be LARSitied and he is too busy this year so I'm just converting to dual plane this year and next year back to stock. I still need quite a few items before i xan be considered stock. One being my ceramic coated headers which aren't going anywhere! They'll have to ding me on that but it's all good.

They place too much horizontal load on the drive gear and can cause premature failure. My .02
Were have you been Missileman? I just went a few mean rounds with nonbelievers in the Engine Mods section. Really could have used the backup. Mostly C2 poeple. They try to blame a dimple mark on dist gear (dist shaft?) for bad alignment and lack of adjustment angle with the large LT1 intake runner as a stop. Where can I find a copy of that service bulletin? We really need to get it posted in the tech tips section.
BTW guys remember to turn the oil pump shaft the same amount you turn the dist rotor. cardo0

Thanks Paul. Wish we could put it in the tech tools section. That bulletin really helps but I feel we need something to describe the relationship between the dist gear teeth and advance/retard. Since the dist gr uses 13 teeth we can figure 360* (dist rotation for entire firing order 18436572) /13 (teeth) = about 28* per tooth. And with a plug wire every 45* on the cap, retarding or advancing one tooth plus only about 17* rotation (45*-28*=17*) of dist will cover the distance to the next plug wire. What I'm saying is that one should only need 17* of dist adjustment angle (room to turn dist) to set the intial - anywhere on that cap. And since the crank rotates twice for each rotation of dist, that 17* dist angle is really 34* on the crank (harmonic dampner marks). I would like to see something in the tech tools about this or at least some one tell me if I'm AFU (and prove it).
Sorry if I hijack yer thread a bit Cali. I'll send ur bunny a pancake someday.
