Ouch! You've touched on a 30+-year-old sensitive nerve with that Malibu (mine was stolen and stripped). I have very fond memories to this day. Tell me a little bit about yours.
it's a 64 SS, Malibu convertible, 283, 2 bbl, red buckets, powerglide,
i added stainless power front disc brakes, power steering, 4 bbl manifold and carb, tilt steering. had to add the 15" rallys to fit over the disc brakes. junked the powerglide and put in a turbo 350 auto trans, urethane suspension, 1/2 coil cut from front springs to lower stance, all new repro wiring, white conv. top, runs and drives better than any new car i have ever owned.

Not to mention looks better than most (if not all) new cars.
Thanks! Mine was a green coupe, 283 four-barrel with a four-speed. I cried when I saw its remnants after being stripped. Some day I may go back to one.

That's the exact car that John Travolta drives in Pulp Fiction. Here's what Tarantino has to say about it. No doubt he IS NOT a car guy....
Tarantino: Well, I'm not into cars. A car is something that simply takes you from one place to another. The red Chevy Malibu that John Travolta drives in Pulp Fiction is mine. I could give a **** about it. It's actually a big pain in the ***. I keep it in storage so I don't have to deal with it. I was trying to sell it on the set. It's in mint condition and everyone was always creaming over it. But they sort of assumed that something must be horribly wrong with the car because I cared so little about it. And I was like, "No! I just don't want it. I hate it, actually. Pay me what I paid for it and it's yours." I'd much rather drive around in my little Geo Metro.
Very cool I had over 11 Chevelles when I could'nt afford Corvettes back in the late 70's early 80's. Now, I got four C3 Corvettes and CANNOT afford Chevelles

The prices on Chevelles and 1st gen Camaros has gotten absolutely stupid! I sold my '69 Z-28 to my friend to buy my Vette. I decided I wanted a big block convertible, so the Z lost out on both counts. At the time, I also thought the Vette would be a better long term investment. My buddy's Z is now probably worth about the same as my big block convertible Vette will be when finished! I guess I just don't have the investment foresight that "Cattle Futures Queen" Hillary Clinton has (or "Med Tech Investment Marvel" Martha Stewart) .
Very nice pair of Chevy's there, BTW. I'm jealous.
