Default Radiator seals and baffling

When I installed my new air dam the instructions from Eckler's mentioned a foam piece that installs between the small rubber air deflector and the lower radiator support. I've never heard of something like that but I can certainly see a need for it. Does anyone have a stock car with the small, rubber air dam on the front? Do you have any kind of foam or plastic seal that runs between the rear edge of the lower valance to the radiator core support? Can you get some pictures of it?

I don't really see a reference to it in the AIM. I have no doubt that the previous owner could have removed it and I think without it my cooling system isn't optimum.

Call me Bubba, but I have gone to Ace Hardware and bought a pack of the 1"x1" foam used to seal around window air conditioners.

Cut to length, use some double sided tape, price is right.

That will work for the area around the radiator between the core support but something bigger is needed between the valance and the bottom of the core support. It would have to be flat and maybe 5"-8" long and 25" wide.

Dr. Rebuild sells about 100 (no kidding) different seals for the C3 radiator area. Check out their website. It's kindof clunky because of all the pdf's, but damm is there a lot of good stuff there. That's why I bought all my rebuild stuff from him.

Thanks, Doc!

I looked at his web site and still couldn't find what I'm looking for. He sells air dam seals but he is talking about the upper seal between the hood and the core support. Maybe I need to post a picture of the area I'm talking about.

Back in Bubba mode. What you need is a sheet of 1/4" rubber. Then, you can trim the exact shape.
