Looking at my side sills (black for 68) need to be painted when car gets painted so I tried a inconspicuos spot with a brush and it came out beautiful, no brush strokes. So if I
1. turn over some POR-15 to the painter to do the sills
or
2. I plan to strip all the chrome/ molding off myself anyway ($600 savings) I might try to find a local Forum member or someone to spray the sills. Anyone out there??? "Bueller, Bueller"
Either way the sills will come as nice as painting and obviously a hell of alot stronger against stone chips than paint.
What if POR-15 started making body paint! ....................
Well Dave, It's tough - but not totally chip proof.
If you hit it hard enough - it will chip.
The best application is on steel - where if it does chip - the
rust will NOT work under the POR-15.
FYI Roadster71 - POR-15: rust preventive coating. Wire brush
the rust and paint it on. It won't stick to shiny surfaces.
However, once applied and cured, it is impervious to water and
all solvents - including brake fluid.
mental note: I still need to rebuild and POR my brake calipers.
TV have ever used the stuff. It's friggin amazing. I was over at SanDiegoPaul last night and he used it on his rusted floor pans. i'm sure he'll chirp in here but the floor pans are too pretty to cover up now. Stuff is amazing.

Yea Dave and thanks mucho for bringing it over! I let the RustOleum cure overnight with the fan on it and now I'm going to coat it with the Por15. I hope that's a good combo.
I checked their website and they say that it works best when in direct contact with the rust. Well, it's not going to be. but I hope all will be well.
