1981 Horn Relay

1981 Horn Relay
My friend has a '81 vette and he is having trouble with the horn. He can't get the horn to work and he can't find the horn relay. Does anyone know where the horn relay is located or anyone else had this same issue of the horn not working? Thanks.

82 Horn Relay Location
Horn relay on my 82 is mounted to the bracket the the a/c control is mounted to in the center console.
To get to it you remove the drivers seat and then the tunnel panel.Chevrolet Dealer Parts guy could run you a copy of the parts pictorial V10-18 .It is item 36,Hazard Relay is there also item 27,transmission shift relay is in that cluster also.I take one or the other seats out to get to electrical components more than i raise the hood.

The horn relay on my 81 is located at the top of the fuse box and to the left of it. It has a plastic connector that comes out of a cluster of wires in the upper left corner under the dash about as far as you can get under there at the upper left of the fuse box. The wires are orange (power), dark green (horn) and black (ground)
