I'm somewhat confused about you saying this is a scam Other than the exterior color being wrong, what is the tip off for a scam. Just curious.

Sounds like a good opportunity for someone as long as they can take a look at the car.

I'm not so sure this one's a scam. May just be a really good deal on this one. Most of the scams ask you to send an e-mail to a separate e-mail account, rather than contacting the seller via their eBay account. And it has the acual "Buy It Now" icon, doesn't allude to a buy it now after contacting the seller via the separate e-mail account.

It's for pre-approved buyers. That's usually part of the scam. I don't understand it, but whatever.

Price is in the ballpark. Also not a 4- speed , High miles , Probably needs paint, They are trying to sell it to someone that doesn't know how much it costs to restore a corvette. Probably worth It , 68-73's around here are getting harder to get. I would never buy a car I did not look at first.

It sounds like everything is original except for the carb. And, if he still has that, then it looks like the buy of a lifetime! From the look of the engine compartment everything is there, and all original. It's my guess that the pictures are of a car with less than 50,000 miles on it, but more than 35,000. Note that the brake master cylinder has been replaced, but the original factory air compressor is still there.

And... it is a convertible. Did you see this?

with the optional Hard Top
or
The white convertible top is new
So...unless the pictures are from like a decade ago (it's possible), then this is a real steal for 8,000. However, I would definitely have to view the car in person before I'd buy this one...sounds and looks too good to be true.

If it is legit, the seller has left himself open to the possibility of having to sell very low. Without a "reserve", the first bid will remove the "buy it now" price.

It is a scam.

1) One day listing.
2) Must be pre-approved (even for "Buy-It-Now").
3) Price is way too low, even for a junker '71 Vert.

I sent an e-mail. We'll see what foreign country this car is in...

IT MOST DEFINETELY IS A SCAM I FOOUND A TOTAL OF 5 ON EBAY TODAY THIS WAS THE REPLY I GOT

Hello Sir,

I am glad you are interested in my vehicle.

I want to let you know all the details about this deal so everything will work fine.

Some words about the car:
First of all the car is fully restored and looks just like in the pictures. It is in imaculate condition and has no scratch on and hasn't been involved in any accident. The motor runs very well. This is a classic car that has a lot of the original parts and the tires are almost new.The title is clear ,it is not a salvage one. The car belongs to my grandfather. He is very old and can't take care of it anymore. He put me to sell the car.I have legal documents by wich I can transfer the title to your name.
This 1957 Corvette is the real deal. Cascade Green with beige interior, white soft top and painted hard top, Original 283/270hp dual 4's, 3 speed transmission, No hit body.
This is THE BEST QUALITY.
The car is backed by Vehicle Purchase Protection - up to $16,000 and in this way you are fully protected by Ebay.

The car is now in France as my grandfather lives here.He loves this kind of cars and he collected and restored them. The car is mostly garage kept and rarely used.
Because I can't carry all his things back home I am selling them. I am willing to sell it and ship it to any of the EU countries or to US.I will not ship to any African,Asian or Eastern European countries.I know that the price is low but I have no use for the car and I want to get back home as soon as I sell it.I want to sell the car asap so I am willing to pay 65% of the shipping fees nomatter of the location. The company of my wife works with '4 Seas International Shipping.Inc' and they offered us a disscount for the shipping,so I will support 65% of it and this is the main reason I want to use this company as a shipping service. You will not have to pay any additional taxes.Once again, you will not have to pay all the shipping costs, only 35% of it.

Delivery Estimated Time: 17-21 days
Price: $11,000 - $3000 prior to shipping
- the balance after you receive and inspect the car.
Inspection Period:3 days
Shipping Service:'4 Seas International Shipping.Inc' (door to door)
Terms: I offer a complete customer satisfaction guarantee or your money back. This policy means, that if the vehicle is not as described then you may return it for a 100% refund. If the items are returned, they must be returned in the exact condition as shipped and it will return on my costs.
If the car is what you are looking for and if you agree with these conditions then I will be glad to close this deal with you. In order to end this deal I want you to deposit $3000 to a Western Union agent,if you need more details about this please contact me.I prefer money order because in this way I will ship the car in the same day you make the payment.

I will be waiting your email.

Kindly Regards,
Alllan Quints

The "pre-approved" part is to get your personal email address. At that point they make ypu an offer...."wire $3000 deposit" and the car will be delivered to you. Then pay the balance at delivery!
Like they say "buyer beware"
