Default Engine is out, minimal damage...dial up beware!

I spent most of the day working alone pulling the engine. I got the driveshaft out and the chambered exhaust out in pieces so I can hopefully re-sell. I left the radiator and shifter in place. I wasn't able to get the tranny and engine together though. Even with a leveler, it just wasn't going to happen. No big deal though, just a minor set back and I wasn't going to fight it. I'll get the tranny out tomorrow and start cleaning the engine bay.

More good news. I didn't break any bolts or bust anything up.

Some of these photo's are just a reference for me.

It turns out that the bellhousing is a #621 for an 11 in clutch. Here's the rest:

Len, Take my word for it!!!! remove the radiator before you slide the BB and tranny back in. You might get away with it with a SB but a BB with the waterpump and tranny is to tight. I don't want anything to happen to that sweet aluminum radiator

Thanks for the tip Bob, but i think I'll do the tranny & engine separate. I think I'll take the $$ expensive radiator out as you suggest, as a precaution.

Len,

You picked a great weekend for the pull. I'm surprised you got that out with the radiator still in.

Did Mindy take your pic for fun or as evidence for the trial?

Yeah, but it's so F'n heavy! I can't believe I'm lifting the new tranny around the garage.

Wasn't sure I shoud attempt it yet Jerry, and half way thru I found myself asking why I started such a project.

I was thinking of calling you Jay, but it was a last minute (Sat AM) decision to proceed.

Mindy took the picture for fun as she said I looked "happy" and she never saw me so dirty. I said I could do better than that.

I can't wait to see that BB sitting in there. My motor project is at a stand still right now while I get the nerve to ask the wife for the $1800 it will cost for the heads. With our house up for sale and the new one ready to be built I know what the answer will be. At leastI can live vicariously through you till I can finish mine. Looks like a lot of fun. It will be nice when you get everything cleadned up and drop that shiny new BB in place. The job want be as dirty then and the payoff will be great. Great Job keep us posted.
