I'm ready to redo the engine compartment and saw a thread not long ago where a member mentioned a product he bought from Auto Zone or somewhere like that that is similar to the bed liner products. He said it worked great for painting the engine compartment. I can't find the post. Can anyone help me?
not sure about that, but I bet some guys have some input on using POR15. That's what I planned on using on some of the engine compartment...not sure about the fiberglass parts.
that doesn't ring a bell. I do remember a discussion about how to protect the wheel wells. Some people use a thick rubberized paint in the wheel wells to prevent rocks from flying up and causing cracks in the paint that are visible from the top. Others actually use a rubber like mat at the top of the wheel well. Don't recall using that type of paint inside the engine compartment.
Yea I see a lot of post about por-15 and I am considering this but this was a product bought at a auto parts supply, came with sprayer and all for a reasonable price. I'm pretty sure I saw it on this forum as it's the one I read the most, almost daily.
i used por15 10 yrs ago on the entire shell, wheel wells, frame, A arms and it's still rock hard just like when i put it on there, no chipping or peeling. amazing stuff. take a look. http://www.cardomain.com/id/rlato
