Default Valve lock question.

Am in processes of putting my heads back together and could not figure out why the cups where too thick to get proper install height, turns out Trick Flow valves I ordered from Summit, which by the way where the only ones listed in the catalog, are 0.050" shorter than the originals! :mad Now can I order locks that are +0.050" and get back that 0.050"? Hope so since $32 is much better than another set of valves at @ $200.

Yes you can use .050 tall locks to get to your desired install height, but you have to pay close attention that the rocker arm does not try to come in contact with the valve spring retainer. By raising the retainer in relations to the tip of the valve the retainer is closer to the rocker arm and in some situations can hit. Depending on the type of rocker arm and diameter of valve spring you are using, it may be close or you may have a lot of clearence. But is it something to check.
