T handel on shifter?

T handel on shifter?

I have a 1976 model with 4 speed manual transmission. I just saw a nice picture of a 1976 interior and, the shift diagram plate looks like mine and the round shifter **** looks like mine, but there is no T handel for selecting reverse gear. Did they have 2 transmission types, or maybe the picture wasn't really a 1976 as it said it was. If anyone knows

The T handle is a stock shifter - If it's not there, then someone has replaced with an after market shifter... most likely the Hurst.

I've got a Hurst shifter on mine that is without the T-handle for reverse lock out, but instead of a ball on top, I've got a Hurst T-handle. How's that for confusing you?
