Default Almost have my first Vette

Should be any day now.I'm going to be getting an 82 CE with under 40,000 miles.I will be having a lot of questions I'm sure.I know more about Vettes than most people but not anything like ya'all know.If any of you have a CE I've got a few right now. What kind of gas mileage are you getting? Also, even though this car is show quality, should I buy some spares to keep just in case.I know GM built what like a little over 6,000 of them so I'm not sure about the avalibilty of CE repo stuff. Can the interior stuff be had?(seat and door panel material)I might want to get replacements for sometime down the road. Also which company is the most realiable for parts?Ok I'm through for now.Just a little stoked so I'm rambling.

Log onto Ecklers and get a catalog and start reading.... you would be surprised of all the parts you can get. I still read mine along with my Corvette Fever.

Have Fun!

Copter,
Do a Google search for "Corvette Parts" and you will get about 50 companies which will mail you their free catalog. What ever route you take with your 'vette(Restore it, modify it, or just drive it), your going to love it!
I've asked some pretty dumb questions, but everyone here is cool. This forum is the best resource for quick answers!

We will need some pics as soon as you get it!

Have fun,

-Dan

Congrats!

Get a copy of Corvette America's catalog... they have great breakdowns of various parts of the car... very handy with working on finding what you need.

If your like me, your going to love your CE. Lots of very expensive stuff on it to worry about.

As for parts, yeah there is some new stuff, interior is one of them, all the major catalogs have it.
Now for the bad news. don't break the rear hatch glass, there are next to none available. This also goes for the bronze T Tops. Be careful with those expensive emblems. and don't mess up those decals, there are no more originals.

Want some good news???
We have a registry for CE's:
http://207.234.250.171/82ce/82ce.htm
We are just getting back on-line after a server move, Hopefully we get back all 80 members, plus some new ones like you.
And there is a web site devoted to the Crossfire Injection:
http://www.crossfire.homeip.net
Both sites are full of some very helpful and smart people (not including me).

Oh, and Welcome to the CF
